I feel the need to caveat this whole thing by reminding you that I’m Australian. Therefore my expectations when visiting the beach are very high; fine white sand, clear blue waters and swaying palm trees are the norm. Maybe it’s just that this wasn’t what I was expecting, but it didn’t really seem up to scratch.
I don’t usually travel alone. I have travelled to places by myself, but I’ve always meet up with family or traveling companions once I’ve gotten to my destination. I like to share my travels with someone, to discover new things together and have someone to share in the excitement and the nervousness of being surrounded by new and different experiences.
In small doses though, solo traveling can be freeing. You get to see and do exactly what you want and on your own timetable. No compromises needed!
I’ve been to Paris three times. I just heard how obnoxious that sounded and I apologise. I am very fortunate to have been able to visit that many times so early in my travelling days especially considering what an effort it is to get to Europe from Australia. However, the fact still remains and it’s one of those cities where I feel still only just scratched the surface.
